Sep 20, 2016· +1 for the Rock Crusher. I used mine with my Lonestar and Roadster. No coloration to tone. I bought mine used from GC and it was in perfect condition. For 215 you can't beat it so check for used ones. I don't have experience with the PS, but I know it's more expensive.

May 14, 2011· Also, I called Rivera and asked about the amount of volume drop at 3db. He said it depends on what ohms you're running. There will be less drop at 8 than at 16. I'm running at 16. He also said I could run at 8 if I wanted as the RockCrusher would present the correct load to the amp. Even better, however, my amp is switchable to 8 ohm.
Selectable 8 Ohm or 16 Ohm switch Unlike most other attenuators, the RockCrusher lets you select between the two most common impedances of 8 Ohms and 16 Ohms as you like. (All you need to make sure is to stay at or above 8 Ohm on the two parallel speaker output jacks) There's an asymmetrical and a symmetrical (XLR) output on the RockCrusher.
Apr 06, 2011· Meh. Nothing really new, just a new attenuator to enter the market. It's a bit funny the claim he made about the Rock Crusher being the only switchable impedance attenuator on the market today. He obviously didn't research the Aracom or Faustine attenuators. Another thing he mentioned about an impedance mismatch with an 8 ohm.
Rivera gave the RockCrusher an 8/16ohm selector switch so you can use either value to accurately match your cabinets and amplifiers. Additional features that ensure the Rock Crusher is easy to use both onstage and in the studio include a frontpanel bypass switch that lets you use the amp with a speaker cabinet when full output level is desired.

The Rivera Rock Crusher has a power handling capacity of about 120W RMS, and an impedance of 8/16 ohms. The input channelizes in the form of 1*1/4" of the amplifier; and the output is in the unit of 2*1/4" measured from the speaker output, and from the line out in 1*XLR, 1*1/4".
Cut the Volume, Keep the Tubeamp Tone. Rivera's RockCrusher power attenuator and load box could be your gateway to epic tubeamp tonal bliss. The tone of a tube amp is directly related to the power of the signal it receives and how much amplification is added by the tubes themselves.
May 20, 2018· Hi I am a happy owner of a 2016 Marshall JTM 45 reissue head . I use with a 1960ahw cab. Now i want to hook it up with a Rockcrusher so I can push it harder and have some nice classic rock tones at lower volume.
Jun 07, 2011· Selecting 16ohm operation and bypassing the Rock Crusher I pushed the PA up to about 7 on the volume and let it rip. By the time I was picking up some of the art that had fallen off the walls, I had dialed in a tone I liked and switched on the RockCrusher in the 3db mode.

Mar 15, 2021· Great condition with a few extremely minor cosmetic issues listed below but fully functional. Back info sticker is coming up a bit and there's a small knick in front. This only works with 8 and 16 ohm amps and I need 4ohm, only reason I'm selling. Let me know if you have any questions.
Jul 18, 2019· The RockCrusher has an 8/16ohm selector switch so you can use either value to accurately match your cabinets and amplifiers. For "bypass on the fly," which lets you use the amp with a speaker cabinet when full output level is desired, Rivera included a frontpanel full bypass switch that removes the load entirely.

Nov 10, 2016· I haven't tried the Rivera attenuator. I have the Dr. Z. It works very well on amps that are 4 ohms, decently with 8 ohms and barely makes a dent on 16 ohm amps. Not a lot of loss in quality until you reach the rheostat for bedroom use. I'm currently waiting on a 16 ohm THD hotplate (200ish used).
